Room 9 Lego Town

Last week students worked on a town as part of Literacy Centers. Fire stations, hospitals, houses, a dentist office and cars were all constructed and labelled.

Specialist this Week: Computer Lab

I hope all had a good spring break. My family and I spent most of the time in Seattle. We had a wonderful time spring cleaning and picnicking when the weather was good. We also took a brief trip to the country where Beatrice had a chance to pick up and chase baby goats!

Field Trip on May 9th

We will be going to the Center for Wooden Boats on May 9th (a Monday). Students will be doing a canoe trip and building a wooden toy boat. Please return the permission slip and payment ASAP. Also, let me know if you would like to chaperone.

IXL Trial

We will be doing a 30 day trial of a website called IXL (www.ixl.com). It is a web-based program that allows students to practice academic skills.
To log in go to www.ixl.com, the username is your child’s first name, last initial, and 712. For example, Beatrice Bell’s username would be beatriceb712. The password is 111aaa.

Goldfish Models

Room 9 Scientists have made excellent goldfish models. They have been focusing on observing the structure of the goldfish. Fins, eyes, scales, and gills were all included.

Great Composers - Beethoven


Students learned about Beethoven today. We listened to some classic songs such as Fur Elise and Ode to Joy.
